- Some of you may be aware that recently, Orbiter author Martin Schweigers account on the M6 board had been hacked with an imposter posting on the board. While nothing major had occured, it is important to understand that the integrity of the Orbiter software package located on all Orbiter mirror sites has not been compromised.

As a moderator of M6, I can assure you that everything is being done by the administrators to insure this problem will not happen in the future. I will post updates as needed.

- We have now created an IRC Orbiter Chatroom on the SpaceTronix network. If you use mIRC or any other IRC client, you can join by enteing the following information for your IRC Client

IRC Servername: irc.spacetronix.net
Ports: 6660-6669,7000
Channel #Orbiter

When connected, simply type /join #Orbiter

If you do not have an IRC chat client installed, you can use our JAVA IRC Chat Client located * HERE *

Enjoy!

- The Virtual X-Prize is underway at Moonport! More information is available here: Moonport Virtual X-Prize competition

From the forums: These spacecraft would exhisting materials, there would also be a cost limit. (Each team would start out with a balance of X amount of virtual dollars) There should also be a requirement of say 5 atmospheric test flights, or drop tests for cpasules. And that every component needs to be tested in Orbiter. If you have a LES, then it needs to be tested, engines need to be tested. One you are done testing then a flight can occur. Sub-orbital and then another flight must happen with in a week of the previous.

All of this would be done in a small time frame say one or two months.

Please note that registration is required to log into and view information in the Moonport forums.
